Event Overview

The Future of Infrastructure Conference 2019 will include perspectives from government ministers, organisations and leading private enterprises, and feature case studies on large-scale policy reforms that are leveraging the speed at which infrastructure needs to progress.

Through interactive presentations and panel discussions, the programme will range from regulatory updates and overviews, to the increasingly innovative practices within the industry. Innovation and infrastructure are at the heart of the government's economic and industrial strategy and experts will join together in a bid to radically improve the way infrastructure is managed.

Industry Research

The infrastructure industry faces uncertainty around the political, economic and investment landscape in the UK. The demands on infrastructure services are changing and increasing.  The next few years, the government’s own National Infrastructure Plan states private capital should fund at least half of the cost of a £483 billion infrastructure pipeline to 2021.

Following the chancellors 2018 budget announcement, investors are looking to the National Infrastructure Strategy which will set out sector specific ideas to help ensure clear and sustainable lines of finance in the future and to drive more private cash into infrastructure projects.

In order to remain a global world class trading nation and so that the future of UK Infrastructure is viable and sustainable the government will need to look critically at the challenges around funding, procurement, people and skills, transport, utilities, power and social infrastructure.
