Andy started his career as an officer in the Merchant Navy, successfully qualifying as Master Mariner in Oil and Gas as well as Telecommunications vessels. After returning to University to become a Civil Engineer, Andy now has fifteen years of Construction Industry experience and is responsible for delivering the UK Construction Services Strategy as well as process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across Balfour Beatty, through the utilisation of technology, systems and data. He is a thought leader in the use of technical solutions to process problems and innovation. By bridging the gaps between departments, functions and stakeholders, he delivers a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding of LEAN methodology and its framework to deliver business transformation. In short Andy works to deliver operational excellence by ensuring the right tools are in place, and then coaching, training and mentoring teams to sustain improvement and build on success.
Andy continues to challenge himself having just completed an MBA with Distinction and the Faculty Award for Best Overall Performance on the MBA.
